5 Sons/5 Granddaughters

"I have no greater joy than to hear that my children walk in the truth." 3 John: 4

Bryan

Bryan is a decorated, veteran DC Metropolitan Police Officer who had the great honor and distinction of serving as security at the inauguration of the first black president of the United States. He is currently pursuing a degree in Homeland Security. He has been on the National Dean's List for all of his college life and he is a member of the Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society. He is a former U.S. Marine and in his younger days excelled in football, wrestling, and track and field at High Point High School. He and my lovely daughter-in-law, Carol, are the parents of my beautiful granddaughters, Jordan and Layla.

Reverend Nevada Smith

On August 16, 2002, in a senseless and random act of violence, Irving was shot and killed and Nevada was shot and very critically wounded. After 17 months of grueling surgeries, medical procedures, and therapies, Nevada has survived and continues to thrive and we continue to thank and praise the Lord for his providence and munificence.

Before all of that, Nevada had earned his Bachelor's Degree of Theology from Moody Bible College and his Master's Degree of Divinity from Trinity Bible College.

In 2000, Nevada founded and established Urban Harvest Ministries. Over the years, as the ministry has grown and changed, the name was changed to New Harvest Christian Ministries.

He is currently  completing his doctoral studies at Howard University. Nevada now has three daughters; Shemiah, Gabrielle, and Azah.
